Default 2004 Durango After Market Parts

I bought a 2004 Durango SLT HEMI with all the bells and whistles last February. I drive it an average of 1000 miles a week. Right now I have over 35K miles on it. I love the truck! Everyone who drives it wants one. I average 19-20 mpg on the highway with no modifications. One hint. Change the airfilter every 3-5000 miles if you want to keep your mpg up.

The only complaint I have is that there are virtually no aftermarket parts for this truck. I tried to find an air filter back in July and the local dealers didn't even have them. I think Wix has them now and a lot cheaper than Dodge. I think K&N has a replacement now as well, but not a cold air kit. That would really help.

The ride started getting a little rough at about 25K miles. I have been looking for shocks, but nobody has them yet except the dealer and that is special order. My sources tell me that Monroe won't start producing them until july '05. If anybody has any suggestions, please let me know. I can't wait until somebody makes a custom chip for the computer.

K&N does have a CAI now. Don't have the P/N handy though.

AFE has a new filter out for the HEMI. Replaces the factory air box and filter. Check their website. Much better than a K&N

I have a Volant CAI on mine and have had if for about 4k miles. I have been very happy and once I got insturctions it was simple to install. Is pretty loud when getting on it but made a very noticible increase in HP, but mainly an increase in throttle response. It sound real throaty and looks good. Only complaint is that to install it you have to remove the entire airbox, including the Hemi badge on the factory intake.

All in all I have been extremely happy with it.

Hope that helps

i also have the volant and i have to say i love it. it is a quality peice and was easy to install. the factory airbox is redicoulas, there are 2 air resonaters. the volant is a straight shot right to the t/b. the sound is awesome, almost like i got a whole new exhaust system. i'm looking into a jet chip since there are no programmes for the 04 hemi yet, and i'm looking into an exhaust system. i know magnaflow and flowmaster both make kits. i'm trying to get numbers on both.
