Hello everyone, I'm new to the forums and I'm finding everyone here is helpful so I thought I'd join in but first I've got a problem. I have a REN MyGIG in my 08 Avenger but during an upgrade, it froze on me and now it's bricked completely. Button's won't work and I've tried to eject the CD manually with the procedures posted here in another post but nothing. I've tried all the suggestions on this forum and others but still nothing. I have a feeling that the HD has been corrupted. I've had the local dealership check it out and they aren't able to help and won't replace it ... (long story). Anyways, since it's completely bricked, I thought I'd try copying an image to the Hard Drive and I have the procedures to do it but since I can't copy an image from the original, I need an image from a working MyGIG. I was hoping that someone that has an image from a 20Gb MyGIG HD could put their image online so I can download it. ANY software version is appreciated but obviously, if it's the latest version, that would be preferred. I appreciate any help anyone can give.

I don't know if you've done something already that would make the following link worthless but you can read it and see if it helps. MyGIG Recovery Instructions

Tedebear, Thanks but that's all been done and in my case, it didn't help. Fuse pulled a few times and still nothing. No ejection. Buttons don't work at all.

Hey zzrogue, The MyGIG Recovery Instructions link that was provided ( Which was copied from my site at http://mofv.com/mygig/StuckCD.htm without giving me any props.. Which really doesn't matter since I originally learned them from Steve at HB and added some comments.. lol) is currently the only method for removing the CD. The most important part of that procedure is lowering the radio face before pressing the SEEKUP - SEEKDOWN - WHATEVER button. The radio will not lower the face automatically when you press the emergency eject buttons and will just ignore the eject request. I had a bricked radio and it was unresponsive but it came back by leaving the fuse out for a long time (Like 10-20 minutes) Sometimes the radio just starts responding on its own after a few days. I have had people tell me that their radio was completely unresponsive but they were able to continue the install or eject the CD days later.. Obviously that is just luck but because it has happened with others it is important to not give up on the radio immediately. Provided that you did lower the face before using that eject procedure there are occasions where a radio will be completely unresponsive even with a fuse reset. In this case there are no options but to go to the dealer and tell them that "the radio just stopped working" as telling them that you were messing with the radio sometimes produces undesired results :) Sorry that I can't provide a secondary eject option and that I essentially rehashed the instructions to you.. but unfortunately the CD options at this time are limited. Harman Becker are working toward an easier eject method that will be more reliable but as of now that is all I can tell you to help.. As far as an image is concerned that is an option but all music, pictures, and contacts should be erased before imaging the drive to provide a small hard drive image but more importantly you will likely lose navigation functionality if you image a drive and use that because the map data is VIN coded. I can't say that definitively because I have never tried imaging a drive to another MyGIG but I wanted to mention it as a probable downfall. Usually I would jump up, run outside and pull my radio to see if it would work but currently I am overloaded with projects and don't have the time.. I had to stop working on the unofficial mygig web site for a while which is why you don't see any new posts there lately and I stuck the techs working on answering MyGIG questions without me sharing the email load which is unfair but I just have very little free time lately.
