Ok so I took the Rig off the beaten path last monday down to the river. Somewhere along the way, it seems that I ran over a container of some kind of glue. Like floor glue or something. It is white, thick like caulk and get it on your hands and your screwed. I can not find anything to remove this crap.
it must have been a gallon can of it and it's all over the inside rear fenderwell, fender flare, side of truck and all inside the tire treads.
I have tried WD-40, goo off, mineral spirits, alchohol, diesel, gasoline, ect. About the only thing I havent tried is Acetone, I am scared to touch anything with that stuff!!
Anyone have any idea's?

the best thing to use is 'Goof Off', you can pick it up at any paint/hardware store. I had some resin based mastic on my suede seats and it took that off w/out any ill effects.

Im with lilfrogger on this the 3m adhesive remover takes alot of stuff off. I wouldn't do the acetone, and goof off contains acetone by the way- heard its not good on the paint.

It sounds like it might be teflon lithium grease if it hasn't set up yet.

Water makes it worse.

I have used acetone on my truck, when I debadged. Just be carefull and make sure you wax or polish after you clean the truck. Oh and make sure you do it outside, in case you want to be able to read or write in a few days.

I am on phone with a paint and body shop..they say you have to try different chemicals. last resort is SAND AND PAINT

if you can identify the substance, then look at its MSDS, call home depot, etc...

I suggest to try denatured alcohol.

btw...I just happen to be yakin to my sis who is asst mgr of a body and paint shop in CA when I saw this thread.
