i might get a 98 avenger, i was wondering when the transmissions normally go out on these. it has less than 100,000 miles. thanks

It is usually recomended on cars to do a transmission service every 100,000miles. Just start your care and check your fluid level on the dip stick if its auto also check color as well.

With the manual there is a lil plug above the Driver side CV Axle you can stick you finger in there to check the fluid it level. If you don't know weather it has been serviced or not I would change it before its too late.
