I but a 97 plymouth neon sedan about 1 year ago and put in an after market cd player and it worked great. About a montha ago someone tried to steal my car but opted for the cdplayer instead (that sweet girl put up a fight ;). I bought a new cd player and installed it and once again I was listening to my music perfectly. After a few days the sound in all the speakers would cut out and then it left for good. I still have power and everything else workls great but the sound. I checked out all the wiring and speackers and they're fine. I did notice that the car doesn't have a black wire for the ground (never did from the day I bought it) and although I have never connected the cd player ground to anything and have never had a problem, I've run out of ideas and to the problems and am curious as to if this could be causing it. I did noticed that when I unplug the player and plug it back in that the back speackers make a little noise, not music or static but a quick pop type noise, so I believe the speakers are good. Any help??
