Was there two different lengths of E-brake cables???

There was alot of stuff done to my car including a rear disc swap when I got it and I tried to adjust the E brakes like Jeff B's how to instructs...

1. Raise car off floor with a jack or lift.
2. Remove inspection cover behind wheel. Its a black rubber 'stopper' about 1.5 inches long
along the bottom of the back side of the hub.
3. Make sure parking brake is off (it helps to have someone inside the car to pull the brake)
4. inside that inspection hole you will see a spring. Right above the spring is a gear set. Depending on the side your doing you will either spin that up or down to set the parking brake. On the Drivers Side, Rear, you will rotate that down.
5 Take a flat blade screw driver and rotate it down 3 notches.
6. Check for parking brake grabbing by setting parking brake in the middle position and spinning the tire. If it moves freely, you need to go back to step 5 and adjust it a bit more.
7. Do this until you get the tire to lightly grab.
8. Once complete, do the other side. Step 4-7. The Passenger side is different only in the fact that you will rotate the gear UP to tighten up the parking brake.

how ever every time i tightened them it would actually start to stop the wheel with the e-brake handle all the way down... so i figured maybe the cable got disconnected up front so i took off the center console and found that the passenger side cable was about 1 inch to 1 1/2 longer then the drivers side... nothing including zip ties would help... I also tried loosening the drivers side all the way to see if it would relieve tension or something but no such luck...

Whats the deal???

Were the drum brake cables longer???

Disc brake cables are different from drum brake cables. Thats why when people swap to disc brakes, they need everything from the e-brake cables back.

So do you think thats why one cable is longer then the other... they swaped one cable and not the other????

I was also sorta thought maybe its not connected in back causing the exess slack... when you pull on the cable with a pair of plyers it feels like its streaching more then moving... feels compleatly different then if you pull the other wire...

I don't remember which is longer, but that could be a possibility.
