Has anybody tried coating their side or step bars with Herculiner or one of the commercial coating products like Linex?

If so how do you like it? I am looking to coat my bull bar, step bars, and bed rails as they are beginning to show rust through the cheap powdercoating.

I'd like to do the same with mine. I've also got a fifth wheel tail gate to do. Wonder how much all of that together would cost if I did a lot of the prep work?

I used bedliner on the underside of my lincoln and it worked great (rocker panels) but be sure to rough up the surface really well or it will peal in a few months

DId you have it sprayed, or did you use a roll-on type product?

The Original owner of my Ram did a herculiner on the bottom of the truck.     I like it.   Why the put a liner in the bed I don't know.   This summer the liner coming out & paint on Herculiner goes in.

My brother had an 87 Power Ram that the previous owner had Rhino lined. I mean the WHOLE truck. Interior, exterior, all of it. It looked really good, but it started to peel a little. We would spray the whole thing down with Armor All extreme tire shine, that truck stood out everywhere. Especially with that 360 punched .030 over. Professionally built, dynoed about 400 at the crank. I used to drive that thing sideways until it would scare me. He always wondered why he never had any tread on the tires when I drove it.

Not too sure that it could withstand the heat of the engine bay. Sounds interesting though.

I had the inside of my aluminum tool box spray lined and now everything doesn't turn that nasty, powdery gray anymore. The stuff works great.

My borther jus Hurculined his step bars on his Ford.  I'm going to hurculine the bottom six inches and bumpers of my Ram.  He used the kit that you roll on.  He did one bar with the roller and the other with a brush.  We both think the one he did with the brush looks better.  It went on more uniform than the roller.  The roller looked like it was just globbed on.

The under side of the rocker panel on my truck had no paint left on them from driving on forest service roads so I used the rollon stuff to coat them before they rusted. I think it looks good and from a distance it kind looks like a body lift.
