Im about to trade in my S2000 for a 2005 SRT-4 with only 6k miles on it. Im getting it off carmax. My previous 2 cars were from there so they arent a rip off dealership. I'd like to know from yall. Without destroying the warranty or destroying the car. What upgrades could I put to make this car have more power. Im not knew with modifying. My other car is a black celica with bronze rims(was turboed in the past). I live in Killeen Texas. So many of you srt-4 prolly have seen me around. Im usually at deepstage hanging out or at circuit city chilling with the blue SRT-4 and the others(forgot his name but runs like 12.9 on the track. Its crazy). Anyway, I dont know what parts of the car would void the warranty. I would love to get a HKS BOV or the Greddy Type S BOV. I dont know which one is more reliable, wont cause a leak and is fairly easy to replace with the stock BOV. Fill me in.

Okay, I apologize. I saw Rhody put up a sticky with the list. The question with the BOV still remains open. And if I would like to screw the warranty someday and put on a BOV. I want to find one that will not cause any problems what so ever down the road. I dont like Turbo lag. I want less as possible. Your help will be much appreciated. Feel free to give your own experiences on the BOV you have on your car right now.

what's she going to do? she's not even on here anymore. if you think about moding your car, you just voided your warranty. welcome to owning a dodge. as for a bov, if you don't want to ever think about it again you have three options. the mopar rice plate, the forge bov, or a hks ssq. the hks is the only real bov on that list.

Some nationwide dealerships allow you to put on an intake and exhaust. I know a couple bovs just arent meant to be on certain cars. I mean this isnt a trial and error for me. Not when your dealing with a turbo. I personally love the sound of the HKS BOV. I would like to know from the people that have already had them on their cars to give input...did the spring break, any leaks...etc. Im just trying to plan this out. How hard would it be to put on and what other parts would I have to include?

Just use a MOPAR BOV and call it a day...easy to put on and my dealer could care less about it.

the rice place isn't a "real" bov, which is why many people choose to use other ones. not to mention it's annoying as hell going off every 5 seconds, even in reverse. the hks is a pull-type bov, which means basically it's not going to break. the only bov that i would definetly not suggest is the turbo xs rfl. that thing leaks more than my sink.

How hard is it to install one of these HKS Blow off valves...does it just go on where the current blue plate is or what?

Has anyone heard of the stock Eclipse GSK BOV? My celica had that one. Compared the GSK BOV to the MOPAR BOV. Which one sounds better? I've never heard the MOPAR BOV in person. I dont know anyone that has one in my area. Hearing it on youtube doesnt help for me.

I stopped at Deepstage today. I told them I was going to trade in my S2000 for a SRT-4. One of the workers said "Don't do that, they are the biggest piece of Sh!t. Your better off trading it in for a STI. I have to work on SRT-4s all the time because they break down too often" Another worker said" You already have a S2000, thats all paid off. Just swap the engine with a 2JZ engine". I stood there silenced and walked out. I havent heard of the SRT-4 breaking all the time. Only the tranny going out here and there. What exactly would break on that car first if it were break? It doesnt have no boxer engine but the engine sure is solid with a mitsubishi turbo. Im a car lover. I have an openmind when it comes to performance cars and a passion for modifying. What is it about import tuners that hate about SRT-4s? Honestly? Do they look at the price of the car and expect the car to be top of the line or dont ever stop to think that no america car has potential? Most of the people that work there have or do have either a s13, s14, s15 or just some old civic/crx. Do they not know that a SRT-4 could kill them in a race stock. Even if they put 5 grand under their hood. A SRT-4 owner here by the name of JD has a blue SRT-4 that runs like 12.5. He hasnt even complained about the car or else he would have it anymore. I dont know many cars here in Killeen that do run that low. If they did. Its either a funny car or some new mustang v8 gt/cobra. I dont know. Some part of me just wants to get the car and kill any import that gets in my way. Knowing I just spent less for an all around good car but I wouldnt do that because I know much better than that.

My car has minor issues here and there, other than my tranny recently going out. And yes anyone who doesnt drive an srt4 hates on the srt4's. I am not sure why and I really dont care to ask. Its a luv hate thing. I luv looking at them in my rearview and they hate looking at the ass end of my car....lol.....No you dont put the hks where the blue plate goes. You have to buy a block off plate to seal off the stock bov area, Its like ten bucks. Then you need a new cold side pipe to go in between you intercooler and throttle body that has a flange that will hold the hks, from everthing that I have read and experienced myself hks ssqv is the only way to go....As far as warranties go, I promise your gonna want to build this car and with the slightest mods your warranty is garbage
