Hello everyone. I'm wondering just how difficult it is to replace a heater core for a 97 Dakota sport, v6 3.9. The core itself was only $50 bucks, but the quote I got on labor to install it was $425. So I'm thinking I can do this myself. I'm pretty good at doing my own auto stuff. So can anyone clue me in on how difficult and involved it is to change the heater core? It seems like I need to just lower the steering column, and pull the dash back, then take the old core out and put in the new. Am I oversimplifying it? And should I change anything else when changing the heater core, like the evaperator coil, any sensors, etc? Thanks for any help and pointers.
