Default E-Brake question

Hey everyone, this is my first time on this sight and I am happy to see that such a sight exists for this car. Anyway I have had my 2008 Dodge Avenger for almost 6000 miles now and lately it has been doing something incredibly random: Sometimes when I come to a complete stop the "BRAKE" light comes on as if I had my E-brake on. I try putting the brake on then off or putting the car into park and it doesn't go away. It just usually dissapears after a minute. So it hasn't affected performance as far as I can tell but it is a reason for concern, does anyone have a solution?

Thanks in advance.

Default RE: E-Brake question

Hey, the brake light also goes on for low brake fluid. Be sure to check that. Also do a search for "brake" on this forum and youll see others with the same problem. Im not sure if what they did to fix, but u can ask. The best solution is just to take it to the dealer.

Default RE: E-Brake question

Well since you said it happens only when you come to a complete stop I would guess your brake fluid might be a touch low, not low enough to trigger it all the time but when you stop it could be sloshing away and off the sensor thereby tripping it, so before you waste time going to the dealer I'd check the fluid level.
