Default some thing fishey going on!

hey guys like i said im new for the srt-4 but i already have stright pipe 3" and intake....but my gas guage does the weirdist thing like i have never seen before it says im empty then i fill it up and it clicks at 5 gallons. when i start the car it show empty. when i go on the road and goose it the guage shoots up like a rocket.some time it show half some time empty but never all the way full.wats going on here? do i need and after market fuel guage?please tell me im not the only one experiencing this

check your fuse under the hood, but thats probly not going to be it.
Its most likely the cluster going bad, thats the same symptoms that mine did have be4 it broke( except on mine no gauges work).
try unplugging the fuse and then plugging it back in, it resets the cluster.

To me it sounds like your sender is going bad, its not that hard to change out, I took mine out to install a walbro fuel pump, its pretty easy, if its the sender, anyone have other thoughts??

Sounds like the S/U in the tank. Mind went out around 18,000 and she threw a code also.

thanks guys does any one know wat the correct current should be going to the guage if it is full?
im trying to diagnose this.. here this fuel guage is anyoing me..... im about three more minutes away from just covering it wit elecetrical tape!!!lol

May be your guage cluster... my 03 did the same thing before the dealer fixed it...

To this day I'm still not sure if it was the sensors going bad or the actual gauge cluster. Mine did the same thing though when I stepped on it. The MPH gauge did not work until I hit about 80MPH so I'm honestly not quite sure

Are you throwing any codes? My cluster stopped working one day and I got a BUS error. Cluster wasn't communicating with the other components....

the niddle on the guage the round part at the base is rubbing against the cluster.. i tapped on the clear plastic and it goes up lol..but i do not think that i should be laughing.do u guys think its hard to fix

how long and how hard would it be in push in the section or pull the base of the neddle out a bit?
