Having a bit of trouble with my power window on the driver side my 02 dakota sport 4x4.

The window comes down about 4 inches then slows and stops. The motor seems fine however I am thiking something may have let go or the window is going off the tracks at this point.

How much work is to taking off the door panel on my rig? Anyone ever do this?

How hard is it with the power widow switches and locks?

Anyone ever have this happen?

Comments? Suggestions?

BTW this is my first post on this forum. Long time reader, first time poster. Some great stuff.

Thanks in advance!

I've done it before, pretty easy.  Think there are about 6 screws if I remember correctly (1 by the infinity speaker, 1 behind the door latch, 1 or 2 in the arm rest and I think 3 on the bottom).  Once you have those out, lift the door panel up and pull it away from the door.  Once you have it where you can get your hand behind the panel, you'll have to unplug the power window and lock connections, infinity speaker cable if you have the infinity radio and lastly the door latch and door lock rods.  The door latch and lock rods just unsnap from the plastic connector and just lift out of their position.  After that is done, peel off the moisture barrier plastic and you should then be in there.

I've replaced the power window regulator in my '03 QC and it took about an hour to do the whole thing.  Hope that helped.

Yeah..and all of the electrical connections are made with plastic conncectors too.

Simple job...you shouldn't have any problems...
