Default oil choice for differential, Transfer case, aut. gearbox?

Hello Guys,

Can somebody provide me with an oil scheme for my '84 360 Ramcharger?

I want to refresh all oils. I need to know oiltypes for the differentials, transfercase, automatic gearbox and engine oil.

Thanks in advance !

Best Regards, Marc

The oil you use is dependant on what you do with it and how you drive it. It also depends on the condition of the parts.

As an example, for engine oil I use HD40 in the summer and 10w40 in the winter, but my engine likely has never been rebuilt and there is over 150k miles on the truck. The auto transmission gets its rated ATF3 or ATF4. I have not done the rear diff, but I probably should at some point. I only have a 2wd, so no transfer case to think about.

hope that helps.

What axles do you have under your rig?? Make sure you do not have a sure grip, if you do be SURE to get the friction modifier that goes into the diff, 80w-90 gear oil for the diffs, 203 trans case is 10w 30 and I believe 208 is ATF fluid??? not 100% on that and 205 is the same as 203.....
