1994 V8 Auto trans - 5/8/2008 1:22:54 PM    yonext2000   Posts: 26 Joined: 3/21/2006 Status: offline Has anyone replaced their 92-95 Dakota V8 auto trans with a V8 auto from a truck or van same years? Can it be done and what was needed to make it happen? Hollander says only Dakota will interchange..any idea why? I dont know if the tranny out of a dodge van will work, it may if it is the same motor and the same generation. They're probably the same on ALL Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth from that model year (and probably several years). There should be a part number, or code associated with the tranny that should be stamped on it somewhere (usually on top).
