92 Dakota estimated weight
New to the site.......Just bought a 1992 Dodge Dakota longbed 2 wheel drive for $200.00with a 3.9 and auto tranny(bad tranny). I have to trailer it home and :eek:was wondering if anyone knows the approximate weight.I have a trailer rated at 4000lbs and was wondering if that would be sufficient to haul it on, the truck is about 60 miles from where I live!
Thanks Tim |
RE: 92 Dakota estimated weight
A reg cab short bed 4x4 weighs in at 4,036lbs so figure you do have a little extra bed weight but you don't have a transfer case, front diff, etc, so i think you'll be fine

RE: 92 Dakota estimated weight
not to steal your thread, but anybody know what a 96 V8 4x4 ext cab short bed weighs?
thanks |
RE: 92 Dakota estimated weight
When I weighed mine it came out just above 4150. Everyones is differnt! But that should be close to yours.

RE: 92 Dakota estimated weight
My truck is the same as yours except mine is 2WD.
Mine is tagged to weigh in at 5200# or so. |
RE: 92 Dakota estimated weight
The tag gives how much the truck could take with load and all. not curb weight.

RE: 92 Dakota estimated weight
The tag is GVW, Gross vehicle weight, vehicle weight with a load, as Crazy said. Everyone's weight really is different, I've seen identical trucks come up with different weights, all you need is a variance in the scale and it'll throw the weight off.
