I've posted this before and i thought that i had gotten rid of my problem. It is back but only when the truck is fully warmed up and at an idle. The only code im throwing is a 0442 which the dealership says is a gas cap and it should go off. I was wondering what could make my truck stall only at an idle. It still runs like a champ when your on the gas. But if you let it stall and then give it gas it will either pick back up or sputter, so im not sure if its a ignition problem not igniting everytime. someone please help.

My guess is it's the IAT sensor.  My brother's Saab was doing the same thing.  It ran great driving, but as soon as he would come to a stop or the vehicle was ideling, it would choke and want to shut off.  The dealership replaced his IAT sensor, and the car starts great, and idles perfect now.

if that is the sensor in the back of the throttle body i took it out and cleaned it(someone last time suggested it) it was really nasty and covered and i cleaned it with carb cleaner. I also hear a sucking sound when it stalls like the engine is pulling mass amounts of air and it doesnt need to be...

After the truck gets up to operating temp it starts to read info from the O2 sensor, IAT sensor and a few other.  Checxk those first.  You can try to "clean" them with electronic parts cleaner, just be sure the can you use states that it is sensor safe.  I've had luck cleaning the IAT but never had much luck cleaning O2 sensors before.  I just replace them.

I prefer the NTK O2 sensors, which are OEM.  Try rockauto.com or summitracing.com

That's another good point.  I as well was having some ideling issues with my truck.  It was having a difficult time ideling after the headers were put in.  I replaced both 02 sensors, and the truck has ran great since.

The sensor at the back of the throttle body is the IAC not IAT. It's the Idle Air Controler. It has a plunger that allows air to pass throught the throttle body to control the idle speed. Im having the same problem right now and just picked up a new one at autozone for 43 bucks. Ill let you know if it worked tomorrow when install it.

When my truck did this, the IAC was part of the problem.  After you replace the IAC, drive the truck for a while and give wide open throttle as well.  The wide open throttle helps the ECU re-calibrate the IAC.  Double check fuel pressure

Ccanales is right. I had the same problem with the IAC but it took 4 of them to get a good one.

I also replaced my battery because of a dead cell at the same time I put IAC #4 in, so I don't know if they were related or not.

so were up to IAT, IAC, Plugs, Timing, Oxygen Sensors. I dunno what to try first :(

I think imma start with the oxygen sensors if i can find a place that sells them for a decent price. Can you get them for cheaper than $90 a piece ?

If you replace the IAC disconnect the battery first. I just replaced mine today and forgot to and had all sorts of problems at first. The PCM memmory relays a reading to the IAC based on whats stored from the first start up. If you replace the sensor with out resetting the pcm its just going to send the old readings and youll wind up with more problems then you had before.
