Burn outs in 2002 4.7l dakota?

I'm pissed. I can't get my Dakota to burn out. I could get my honda accord to burn out. Whats going on? Block warn out? It only has 90k miles on it. 4.7L Dakota 2002 Quad Cab.

Your truck is must likely fine.  I have no problem doing burnouts in my club cab with the 3.9L motor.  Your truck weights alot more than mine because you have the quad cab.  Also I do not know if yours is a 4x4 or not but that also adds a lot of weight.

Its 4x4 but its a V8. Shouldn't it beable to burn out?  I've had the truck for a few months and baby it. I was at my local gas station when some moron was talking about how fast his buick is and I tryed to do a burn out infront of him and just made myself look like a absolute retard. lol

Well there are servale reasons that could cause you not to do a burn out.  Just because you have a v8 does not mean you can do a burn out.  There are alot of factors in a drive tran and the tires.  Where you power braking?  what accord do you have that can do burn outs?

Put some 4.10 gearing into her, and then she'll screetch those tires anytime.

I tryed powerbraking at first. It was a 1992 Accord. Stock. It only does one wheel peallers, I roasted one of the tires right befor I got new tires. I had to put the back tires on a speed bump with parking brake on to do it since it was front wheel drive but seemed like it was easyer to break the tire on it then this dakota.

I'm not changing the gears right now. I work for DirectTV and I do about 1k miles a week. I need to keep my gas milage as good as I can get it since I pay for my gas. I cant put bigger tires and a lift on it either because then I would have a really hard time geting my ladders on my ladder rack.

I have an '03 4.7 QC 2WD with limited slip and I can turn 'em.  I can power brake it and sometimes I can just mash it.  It should do it.

Firstly, this quest to "peel out" seems awfully silly to me.  And secondly, someone who appears to be conscious of saving gas doesn't really make sense if your trying to peel out.  Either your truck has it in it or it doesn't.  Mine will ****ing roast the 35" tires, but that's because it has 4.10 gearing.  When I get 4.56 gearing, it should only become more effortless.

I have no problems toasting my tires either.....hince why I have to go buy new ones this weekend.

Okay...so you say his "quest" for doing a burnout is "silly", however, you brag about your truck being able to "roast" the tires???  And then brag about how well it will do it after your gearing upgrade??? 
Seems a little hipocritical to me....[sm=confused06.gif] but that's just my .02

You go on to compare your truck to his, however, you own a 5.9 with quite a few mods.  Of course your truck is going to put out more torque.  He wants to do a burnout because that is all part of what we love to do as auto enthusiests.  We put mods on our engines for that reason -to show off how bad our American trucks are.  Plain and simple.  Don't rag on the guy about wanting to do a burnout and then brag about your truck and its awesome abilities.
