Yes the title says SXT to SRT....
I'm looking to convert my 03 Stratus SXT Coupe w/ 2.4L to an SRT (using an neon SRT-4 engine)
Here is what I know so far: The base of the engine on both cars is the same 2.4L block, but my engine is obviously not built to handle a turbo. So I know i need all new guts in the block and of course the turbo and exhaust....I'm just wondering if there is anyone else who has attemped or looked into this conversion and if it sounds possible or way to much work. I'm sure its not as easy as I was hoping, but then again it might not take much.

My specs:
SXT
2.4L
automatic tranny
everything is stock

SRT-4:
2.4L Turbocharged
5-speed tranny

Ironically enough, they make an SRT-4 Stratus Sedan in Mexico, it just doesnt pass up here....dunno why.... but I think it's retarded myself...

yeah....you gotta love how Dodge does things, only putting turbos on 4 door neons and strats...not a whole lot of sense there, but who knows....anyway, anyway have any help to maybe the cost and work of a conversion, anything would help!....Thanks

You have alot to learn. The engine in your coupe is no where NEAR related to the one in the SRT-4. You have a SOHC 2.4l Mitsubishi motor, where the SRT-4 motor is a DOHC 2.4l Chrysler motor.

Thats why im swapping the engine with an SRT, and even if i didnt do the swap i could rebuild my own block with srt internals and add and intercooler and downpipe and the turbo would still mount up just fine.....I asked for help, not hassle....
I never said I have the exact same MOPAR 2.4L engine....i said im swapping mine....

lol if i was dumb enough to think the engines were identical wouldnt i have also been dumb enough to attempt to mount a turbo to my stock engine......what would be the use of this topic then....

Do you own a COUPE? If so, how are you going to build you current motor with SRT internals? The 4G64 takes very well to boost FYI. Eclipse owners have very little problems when running low psi.

I hope you're loaded, because swapping engine, transmission, ecu, and finding a way to mate it to the car isnt going to be cheap.
