I got my new grill for my truck today its black.  Im going to coat it in line-x.  I also want to make customs barb wire inserts for them. any ideas how to attach them?  Would fiberglassing with resin on the inside work?

if you look in the DIY thread at the top & also at the top of the 2nd gen ram forum there is a link to a writeup where the poster did a custom grill install, might be worth a look to get ideas...

You could always tack weld the barb wire together to make a "mesh" type grill and install it like any other after market grill. You could even use zip ties like in the DIY write up.

I can see it now...you'll have an assortment of bugs and birds impaled on your barb wire grill.  LOL  Cool idea with the barb wire...you'll have to be careful when washing the front end though.

I know you can't weld it to the grill itself but you can weld the barb wire together to make basically a mesh grill then attach that as one piece to the grill shell. I think it would be easier to hide the mounting points. Razor wire would look good too....

I attached my grill covers (NOT in my picture below) with really thin wire that matched the color of the covers.  Got it from a craft store.  Just went all around the edges and twisted them to the grill.  Works really well, and I didn't have to pull the OEM grill- which was the whole idea behind it.
