Default wheel size for 01 Stratus Sedan

Ok. I need some help since I'm getting opposing views. I'm in the process of getting some 18's w/ 215/45/18 tires. I have some people telling me that they'll fit great and won't be a problem. Then I have some people telling me that even if they do fit, they will cause me problems with tie rods, struts, and any other suspension. Any opinions? I really like the 18's, but don't feel like having to fix my car all the time either. Thanks in advance.

What the person was most likely describing was having the rear wheels rub with larger wheels on. Both the Neon and the Stratus sedan in particular, suffer from having larger wheels placed on them. I've seen 20's on a Stratus before, you just have to put spacers and look at offsetting the wheels.

Honestly, the only major issue would be to make sure your current struts are in good shape. If they're not, I would replace those before putting larger wheels on.

I get the whole rubbing thing, but when i compare the sizes on a tire size calculator, it says that the tires are the same size, just less tire and more rim. That shouldn't affect rubbing at all, I wouldn't think.
