i say its BS.we need to bomb north korea or whatever and take their oil.gas is getting crazy but we all need it.

Yeah were over there and gas goes up. Were dumping all that money into fixing up Iraq and what are we getting in return? We are in a mild recession. I dont care what the Gov says. Why do you think their giving us those rebate checks? I was just talking about oil this morning to my fiancee. I said we had better oil prices when Saddam was in power. The war was supposed to help bring oil here but all it did was cause trouble. Our next Pres is going to have a hard time cleaning up this country.

^^   agreed 100%!!!!!   the goverment is giving "rebate" checks but there is one problem is with these gas prices and all the other crap like food goin up, who is really going to be able to go buy a tv or something for there car with it... i dont know about the rest of u but i have to pay bills off with the "extra" money the goverment is giving us......  forget the extra fun stuff to buy...   things r more important than the fun stuff, even though i wish i could afford to spend it on random stuff......

as for a resession.... we ARE in one, and the goverment should just face it!!!!!!

You couldnt have said that ay better. ^^^ I checked my bank account this morning and found out that I got my rebate today. Im current on my bills but Im thinking about just saving it for summer or hard times. Yes we are in a recession. We would need another rebate check in about for more months to try to balance things out. Americans need help not those 3rd world countries or Iraq.

no kiddin karr....   if i did not have medical bills to pay, i would be current to......  but i would be saving it if i did not have to pay medical bills with it.... just because it is only going to get worse... gas, food, hell everything is goin to raise in price.....   and i am betting very soon that will happen, when it starts hitting 4-5 dollars a gallon

We need none of this. What we need is VERY VERY SIMPLE and COMMON SENSE!!!

1. Get all the oil companies together and we force them all to build a new large refinery so we can start refining our own gas again and not importing refined gas from places like Europe.
2. Get all them same companies to start drilling for our own oil in places like off the coast of Florida, Anwar, Colorado, and Montana I think it was...
3. Look at Shell and them and tell them this is the EPA smog requirement and make gas that meets it. Yeah, instead of paying Unocal for the right to make the federally mandated RFG2 gas here in the midwest with Alcohol they met the pollution requirements on pure gasoline and were told hell no pay UNOCAL and buy alcohol. So no corn in our gas.

These 3 things would drop our fuel and oil prices back to a normal level almost instantly.

Think about it we import 13% of our gas and thus have to pay the world price for refined gas. So if it cost 3.00 a gallon for 13% of our gas which then they have to add their additives and what not then deliver you can bet we will pay for it. Even if they make the oil they drill still for 1.25 a gallon the rest is FOCED even MANDATED by Federal Law profit. You can sell the $3 fuel next to 1.25 fuel so they have to raise the price to cover the most expensive fuel they have to procure because we won't let them build a refinery. Our LAW MAKERS are responsible for the fuel price we pay not OPEC. Then top it off on a falling dollar the prices shoot up even higher.

STUPID!!!

Then with no alcohol in the GAS we lower the pressure the corn price is having on the rest of our food as well.

In the end we lower food and fuel back to manageable levels and we can get back to making money.

well were the pity little citizens that have to face the shi* that our government fuc*s up.we have one of the most greedy and best countrys hell we are the best(USA!USA!USA!) right?why cant we get more oil.and we have just about sucked up enough oil in the US because oil count is decreasing and it is a natural resource.the corn in gas is gay and is twice as harder to produce.so we need to start stealing oil or getting more some how.and the next president says their going to cut gas taxes???all thats going to do is lower it maybe a quarter.WTF the president is just as stupid and he trys to act like hes on our side but its all BS!we dont need to put some dam food in our cars cause thats stupid and will throw us into country starvation with high prices...SO WHAT NOW BUSH(GET OUT!!!)

That makes alot of sense. But its all about $$$ in the end. No wonder why motorcycles sales are up and certain car dealers are NOT taking SUV's as a trade in. Were going to have a healthy America at this rate cause more and more people will be walking this summer and biking. I dont know this is the way it is now so the only thing we can do is pay or park.

i am getting closer and closer to saying park.....    my bike only take leg power and not gas power...   to bad i live on a big ass hill, so the ride to work would be easy, the ride home on the other hand would be a pain in the ass

See thats the problem. Alot of people live far from work or other circumstances where they must drive. Like me I work nights so for me to ride a bike would be flirting with disaster. I dont work in the best of areas and getting there would be just a challenge with all the Sat night drunks and street walkers. Thats crazy pontcheif.

Its up to 3.89 here for regular.  Up from 3.61 this morning.  4 dollars is just days away.  If it gets too much more rediculous I'll start walking or get my bike and use that to get to work.  Its only about 3-4 miles from where I live, so driving my car doesn't take mcuh gas either.
