Great rust forming so bad that it has scale bubbles. I keep wondering if this truck will last five years. I'm taking it in to the dealer to have them look at it. They don't have their own body shop. They contract their bodywork out to a shop a few miles away. Check the pics out and let me know if anyone else’s trucks are rusting in the same place.

Pretty much looks normal to me. Most vehicle frames rust but very few will have a rust thru.

That looks normal to me as well.  You are better off sanding it off and spray that zinc coating and paint over with rustolium.  Dealer is just going to say it is normal.  If they do have someone fix it they are just going to paint over it and would not take the time like you would.  Of coarse if you live in a salt area it is a loosing battle.  I lived in BUffalo NY and chased rust around all over on past vehicles.  Thank god I live in Texas now 2 year old truck and frame is still shinny new looking.  Besides that would take prolly 15 years to rust thru..

The cross section that is rusting in front of the radiator is not really frame material. It’s just stamed light steel square tube and is just part of the body structure and protects in some cases the radiator from damage. I know what you’re saying about doing it myself. I would do a better job and wouldn't screw up any thing else in the process as shop might do. It's the principle of the problem that really gets me. Where is that so called seven step painting process to help protect against rust? I'll let yah-all know what the dealer says.

My 05 had rust on cab corners about 6 months after owning it and the dealer gave me a run around but fixed it.  It also has the rust on the support peice pictured and a different dealer fixed it, but first two dealers wouldn't.  My dad's 06 has it there also and dealers in his area won't fix it.  Sucks that a 2-3 year old $30000 truck would rust anywhere.

Mine is rusting there too,  I am not too worried about it though...   I am hoping to get some good fogs and re-do the entire area up there with undercoating after its done and installed.

My '06 has similar spots on the front.  When I was shopping for a used Dak, pretty much every one I looked at had it in the same area.  It didn't look too seriouse so I'd planned to touch it up sometime when I'm bored.

The problem areas in the pictures I dealt with early on using clear coat safe rubbing compound. After which I applied a good quality wax which I repeated every couple of months. Never showed up again. Looks as good as the day I got the truck (early 2005) If left ignored as I see in the thumbnail pictures it's going to need careful sanding out, spot priming, matching top coat and then clear coat.

haha but wait thats why their engineering is so much better, right?

I dont think hes very bright, if its rusting around the door or under the hood, I would guess he didnt know what a car wash was. And what the hell is Nassian, I am guessing he meant Nissan.

for all that say rust on any car of truck that is this new is normal is crazy...and ur right germans dont make trucks right thats why there is a opel and a vw caddy ur right...and car wash dont do that to trucks or cars it the horrible design from dodge im soo happy to be getting ride of the this thing... the truck has anti corrosive treatment and is dipped in acid. rust should not appear in those places for at least 7 years
