I just bought a 2000 with the 3.9, auto, 3.55 rear, extended cab.  What are the towing capabilities of this truck?

and to answer your question i would say that it might have some trouble with some heavier things because it has the V6 the smaller gear ratio and the extra weight of the extended cab. what are you thinking of towing? i dont tow anything so i dont know the numbers and what not but i would say that something on the heavier side it might have some trouble with.

What do you mean by bumping this thread?  I have a 20 foot coachman lite travel trailer that I would like to haul.

bumping means you just post in your post so that it gets "bumped" back to the top of the resent threads...i had to look back to page 2 to find your original thread and most people dont go past page one. a lot of the time if something isn't answered the poster post bump in their thread so its at the top again.

that v6 may have a some trouble pulling that trailer but with a few mods, and with overdrive turned off, it should work out, but you would of been better off with the v8, and this comes from a guy with the v6

best thing to do is look at the owners manual for towing specs...it has everything you need to know right there, and i believe there are gross wieght specs on the door sticker too
