Jewbrad -> Question about a Tornado (5/3/2008 9:10:21 AM)

I have an 07 Dodge Charger R/T I went to purchase a cold air intake and the guy told me that I didn't need that because it will make my car run bad and that I need some part called a tornado can somweone please give me some information because I never heard of a tornado and would also like to know if the cold air intake is good for my car

The Tornado is a turbine shaped insert that is installed into the air intake. In theory it's supposed to atomize the fuel into the intake air resulting in both mileage and horsepower improvement.

If you think about this a little bit then you will conclude its nothing but snake oil.  Our cars have injectors and they spray relatively close to the valves, which would render something that spins the air at the intake like the tornado useless.

That guy would also sell you a gas magnet and electric super charger [;)]

so will the cold air intake work or will it make it run bad

Almost everyone starts their modding with a cold air intake (CAI). You can't go wrong with one.

ok thanks....so i should not have any problems with the computer settings or anything

Nope no issues at all, a CAI is a minior mod.
