I was looking to see if I could find this on some of the older threads, but couldn't find it.

Has anyone ordered a CAI off of ebay from a company called chromeintakes. I been looking around for some power adders and this came up. The price for it makes it look like a scam and probably not a legitimate product. Is it worth buying or is it a scam? If anyone has bought it, what do you think?

If you have to question it, don't do it.  I usually think that of anything on eBay anyway, but if it's really inexpensive on top of that, it's not worth it.  You can build one yourself for a lot cheaper.  I wouldn't expect much gain out of it either way.  I've tried a K&N cone and tube on mine and it didn't improve much of anything over the stock airbox.  I even lost some off-idle throttle response.

i agree with Jason...lots of people noticed decreased power with CAI's. but if you must have one, id buid one myself with pvc or abs plastic, or go to a parts store where they have parts to put one together yourself at a quarter of the cost of a name brand.

I think the TruFlow products and some of the K&N systems even say to leave your stock airbox alone and just change the filter, remove the resonator and instal a tube. I did this with K&N and it didn't hurt my power or mileage and the throttle response is better.

I agree with scandal669, just get a good filter and make your own tube. I did and it cost me like $20 (beats $200-$300 for pre-made) and about 30 minutes of time.

Ok, thanks, I'm just going to avoid CAI in general.
