Default Overfilled tranny... can i just syphon it out?

Not sure if i spelled it right lol but I just changed filter and noticed i was dumb enough to put to much fluid. I don't want to pull pan again so I was wondering if I could use a gas syphoner to pump out the extra fluid?

Yeah you can. I dunno how well one of those gas syphons would work, but I use something like that to suck the fluid out before I do my trans services. Makes the whole thing alot less messy

Yea i hope this will work i noticed before the filter change it was overfilled... filter wasn't bad but now im hoping the shifting issue when it was cold is over when the fluid lvl is right.

moe in wichita ks
go to wall-mart go to the automotive section. get a fulid pump, not the one thats a bulb in a hose. get the one thats a cyl.the one i had was hard to get it working, but keep working on it. use it to pump out the fulid, but pump out an extra two qts. then add back two qts of rear end grease, it will shift better and last longer. change fulid every 30,000 miles

you could also remove a cooler line, crank the truck and let some pump out.

Yea, you can run the tranny almost dry like this. Thats how you do a flush... Just hook a hose up, and run some out, put the park brake on and in neutral. Runs the tranny.
