hey guys quick question. my buddies truck is making the same noise mine was when turning sharp and slow. i had my fluid changed and added the friction modifier in the rear and it is great now. his is a 2wd 2001 dak. tho and im not sure does it take the same additive in there to reduce noise? or only the posi rear ends. do 2wd even have posi?

The additive is for the limited slip rear ends.  Yes the 2wd came with the limited slip also, i have it in my dakota.

Yeah, the limited slip in mine is the same way. I think that any diff that uses clutches needs the friction modifier. Stuff also works good for torque converter shudder too.

cool thanks for the input. another question.. how often do you guys change your diff fluid? im pretty sure when we changed mine it hadn't been done since factory which was suprising but ive heard with our rear ends people with change every like 20k to avoid the noise once the additive breaks down.

Hey quick questions that goes with this thread. Do you need any additives for the front diff (I guess thats what you'ld call it) on a 4X4?

No additives needed for the front fluid.  It's not a limited-slip type differential.

Didn't think so, just wanted to see if anybody has used something that is good for it, but not common knowledge.
Thanks
