Default Gas guage problem

I have an 03 4.7L Ram with a problem. About 80-100 miles into a fresh tank of gas, the low fuel light comes on, the audible low fuel warning comes on and the gas guage goes to zero! Turn the truck off and back on......everything is fine. I will be selling this truck later in the summer and would like to get it figured out without the dealers $$ help. Anyone ever heard of this problem?

Thanks

Don't know for sure. I'd try and check the connections at the tank -- maybe an electrical connector is a bit loose. Maybe try tapping the tank with a rubber mallet when it's misbehaving. Might be the sending unit.

I have dealt with this problem before on a Ford. I just wiggled the connections going into the fuel tank, and it quit doing it. Not sure if it will help you with your problem, but it fixed mine!

Thanks for the suggestions, I should be able to get to the wire from the underside of the dash right?

I wiggled mine at the top of the fuel tank. Just look for the spot where all the wires and hoses come together at the top of the tank, where they all disappear into the tank. Wiggle the electrical connections there.

If that doesn't work add some techron to the gas. This works sometimes for Corvettes, don't know about Rams. You have to do it for three or four tanks.
