I just got my insurance renewal and State Farm said due to the history for the Make/Model and year of the Dakota the review board found the vehicle claim performance was not performing as well as expected. They had a surcharge amount attached on that line item. Anyone else hear of this or been charged a surcharge for their Daks.

I had not herd that before, but I know when I traded my 08 Ram quad cab for my 08 Dakota crew cab, that my insurance premium went down 300.00 a year. That 08 ram was realy high for some reason,My new 08Dokatais one of least expensive vihicles to insure that I have had in awhile. It might be worth calling around and maybe getting some free quotes. From what I have seen the Dakota is one the cheaper trucks to insure.

I never heard of that, I think thats another good way to screw the working man. I have heard State Farm was sheet, just like Nationwide. I carry Erie Insurance, best insurance company ever. Awesome rate, customer service, etc.

When I first got my 2008 they told me insurance would be over 1000 per year. I have a 500 deductible with all coverages. That was more than my new 2008 mercedes amg suv. I complained and they got it down to $571 per year.

State Farm is a joke, like a good neighbor they will tell you to shove it up your a$$ if you complain to them. They wouldn't even give me a quote and they were rude to my parents when they went through State Farm. I go through State Auto Insurance through Lane Insurance Agency in Norwalk Iowa and they have been great.

I have State Farm, but only because when I bought my house, no one else was writing homeonwers policies in Sept..hurricane season...I had to put my cars with them as well. It's been about three years and I have really been too lazy to shop around.
When I crashed my Passat a few months ago, I have to give State Farm props for how they handled it. I had a check, for more than I paid for the car, in my hand in less than a week. Now, as for rate increaes, we'll see since I haven't had a renewal yet.

I too have USAA and i have an 05 dak and an 05 stratus R/T. I only pay 125/month and thats with my renters insurance.
Their customer service is second to none as well. If anyone is or had been active duty military, or has a parent who is you are qualified to join. Cheap insurance and good banking too, as well as good rates on loans and whatnot.

Wow, Us Canadians need some of your companies up here. $1000 a year, for anything from 2005 and up....... Canadians would be HAPPY and sing songs of praise about that. We get it in the ass every which way! Blame that no fault horse ****! Example, I am 27, unmarried, was paying 120 a month, 2006 Dak, 80KM commute to work. Moved into the city, went to 200 a month!! Apparently, my fellow co-workers told me to shut up, 200 for a 2006 TRUCK was a bargin. Later found out it really was. You guys are lucky. Also, don't complain about gas prices!! We are paying $1.25 a LITRE, convert that to your gallon. You will **** when you see it. Go figure, we have the 02nd largest proven oil reserves in the world, and pay more for gas than you guys!

Before my accident, my insurance was 106 a month, full coverage, 500 dollar deductible, since February, however, I put my truck on storage insurance, and I pay 60 dollars a month, I'm rather afraid to see how much it would be if I put it back on full coverage...
