Yeah I agree with you but we gotta keep bothering them about it or else they are just going to keep ignoring us Dakota owners and keep treating as 2nd class to Ram owners.

the funny thing is, dodge came out with a srt-4 caliber pushing 285 hrspwr. the only way they will build a srt dak is to put a 4 or 6 banger in it

I highly doubt they will build a SRT Dak anytime soon. Cerberus is busy trying to get the company out of the red and turning profits again, hopefully they can undo the damage Mercedes did.

The problem with Dodge is price and value. Dodge vehicles are typically more expensive than competitor vehicles and tend to not hold their value anywhere near as well as Ford, GM, or some of the Japanese auto makers. Look at my Dakota for example, I bought it for 16k when the MSRP was 20k in February of 2007. It is now worth 11k in a year's time with the stock factory options. Dodge needs to be more competitive price wise and start focusing on quality which I believe they are attempting with the lifetime warranties. Dodge also needs to build more fuel efficient vehicles, which they have started to do also. I think that things will get better for chrysler, they have been through hell and high water before and made it out okay with a little help so I think that they will make it through tough times again. I think Mercedes brought a good image to Chrysler but I think they were just too preoccupied with themselves to try and keep Chrysler more competitive with other domestic and foreign automakers.

The one thing that appeals to me about dodge is they have always had the attitude that performance comes over fuel mileage. But it seems now the performance is slacking and they havent raised the fuel mileage eather.

Well the Dak would probably sell better if they'd actually market it. I haven't seen one Dodge commercial with the new 08 Dak in it yet.

Playing a little Devil's advocate here...how often do you see any small/mid-sized trucks marketed heavily? I rarely, if ever, see ads for the Colorado, Canyon, Tacoma, Ranger, or Frontier....so I don't think it's just our truck. All the ads are focused on the full size trucks, because they make more money on them. We'll never see a SRT Dakota...at least not in the near future. It's not cost effective for them to design and try to fit a big engine in a truck that very few people would actually buy, because they can't afford to throw fuel in it.
