Default Avengers back/ balljoints

For the winter i decided to park my avenger and drive around my SUV. Now summers back and gas prices are going crazy, i want to get the avenger back on the road.

Right now the car is sitting at my work (garage)

My question is , does anyone know or has had experience with replacing the lower arms/balljoints yourself, and then getting the Dealer to send you the money for the parts?

The car is at the point where i can't drive it until the ball joints are fixed, all 4 underneath are gone and i don't want to risk driving it to a dealer. I know the recall only covers the 2 arms.

I am not a mechanic myself, i took a coop coruse thought school and then got hired at the garage.

Any thoughts or advice would be great, John
