Hey guys, I've been doing some research and was curious if anyone knew if the 2002 Jeep 4.7L HO intake manifold and cams will work in a 2000 Dakota 4.7?

I don't know what if any performance improvement it would give you, but the parts will work. TheePlaymaker 04-28-2008, 11:12 AM people do it im pretty sure it works and gives moderate increases. V8Boss 04-28-2008, 12:01 PM From what I have read, the HO engine has about a 20-30 HP over the regular 4.7L. Thanks for the input guys. Now I just have to find the manifold and cams....lo luck so far :( varsis 04-28-2008, 12:07 PM ORIGINAL: V8Boss From what I have read, the HO engine has about a 20-30 HP over the regular 4.7L.Â* Thanks for the input guys.Â* Now I just have to find the manifold and cams....lo luck so far :( Yea, there is someone who did this I forget their user name on here.... Maybe they will chime in. They said a large increase in throttle response and were quite surprised... You might have better luck finding a HO engine, than stealing parts swap over and put your old parts in the other engine.. and sell the other engine and you get probably a close to free upgrade... V8Boss 04-28-2008, 01:12 PM I dont really live in a place where I can have a spare engine and I dont have the money to buy a whole other engine but I do have a friend who works in the parts department at the local Dodge dealership. He usually gives me a pretty good discount on parts and labor ;) TheePlaymaker 04-28-2008, 03:08 PM here is a really good right up on it http://www.dodgeboy.net/durango/47ho/index.htm 00DakR/T 04-29-2008, 09:23 PM The part that is left out of that write up is what I was really curious about....how do you hold the secondary chains in place to remove the cams without the tool? I guess a good stout clothes-hanger would work.... V8Boss 04-30-2008, 10:26 PM Thanks for the link, Pit. I need to get a hold of my friend at dodge now. TheePlaymaker 04-30-2008, 10:31 PM no prob...i wanna know how it goes if you do decide to do it and everything that you needed and was involved.:) bpm 05-01-2008, 01:01 AM Yea,dig it,I'm jonesin for some more power out of this engine!!! I wish I had the money... V8Boss 05-01-2008, 07:17 PM Coo'....I'll let you know how it goes. Might be a while...need to save up. |
