I recently bought an 05 hemi magnum and when I went to check out the date of manufacture, I found that the sticker had been removed. Isn't that supposed to stay on the car? I am ticked off about it and want the stealership to contact the previous owner to see if he has it, as they know who he is. Am I off base on this one? Do i have to live with it being gone or do they have to make sure I have one?

I can't completely answer that question. In WI, the sticker must stay with the door, so if the door has been replaced, you won't have one. On the other hand, my wife had a new 2006 Pontiac, and the sticker was working itself off on its own, I ended up using some adhesive to reapply. Just bring the car to the selling dealer and bring it to his attention, without threatening or being obnoxious about it.

Wile C,
It is just a sticker, for use when the Car is new, to let the Owner see all of the information. If it were a law that the Sticker remained in place, it would be a Placard, rivited in place. My sticker is peeling off, has been for over a year... The VIN should give you all the information the sticker would, plus more. I may be wrong, but that's what I think.
