Heres my super fun DoDge Durango Story..

Bought a nice Durango, It blew up shortly after and has been in the shop for over a month until the warrenty decided to fix it. I have completely forgotten what it looked like inside.

I could swear that it had a Digital Climate Control module under the Stereo But I have been wrong before. I have searched all over the place for pictures of Radio clusters like mine but all I find is the standard jeep/dodge/chrysler oval OEM non premium radio, Im Positive I don't have that.

My Model Is 2000 Durango SLT+ 4x4 w/leather, Infinity Sound, 3rd row seat if any of that helps.

I could be crazy but I don't think so. If anyone has a picture of this I would appreciate it or a link to one

---
Question 2

Im putting a sound system in it and I am looking at maybe throwing in a MTX thunder form that fits in the tool compartment in the back. Anyone used them before. They are expensive (569.00) So if they dont produce well I would rather put in traditional Amp+Subwoofers

Not sure about the options. I pulled this from an 02 D

well a little apart, but the changes are easily identified with the controls being to the left and vertical

I really have not heard much about the Thunderform enclosure but by looking around reviews (only found 4) general thoughts say its decent, but im a skeptic review freak and thats why i prob. didnt purchase it. I guess a loaded 8" would sound decent to an evryday driver not interested in shaking bass. Honestly i retract any statements, i really cant say... Maybe someone else can chime in. A lil hint why i cant say, i use my rear cargo alot and have a little higher standard to base. 15"s higher

Almost forgot, sorry to hear about your delemma but glad to see they are stepping up to the plate and replacing. Good luck on that venture, i'll look around and try to find any different dash layouts for you.

** Second pic is my 99 SLT layout only for reference of the controls.

Thats the same layout BUT .. I dont have that knob for the 4 wheen options. I have the shifter on the floor. Not positive on the radio and climate control but that could be it.

----

About the Thunderform.. After some more research I think that 500+ is to much for it .. even though I would like to keep everything hidden. It will be my wifes daily driver so it needs a little bump for her but I want more when I drive it. Probably go with 1 Alpine Type R 12" as I get them for about 99$ @ work. It would be small enough to move.

Im putting a gate up behind the third seat for my 3 dogs to ride with us when on our outings and whatnot.. Well thx for your input.

----

Side note.. If I replace the stock headunit will it require an AMP BYPASS ? Also where are the factory amps at.. I would assume there are some. Or are the speakers built with amps on them like the town and country?
Is there a good unit around to keep steering wheel controls? I have installed 1 or 2 but they were both for units that had GPS built in.

Aslong as the HU is a 2ohm system (as the speakers) bypass shouldnt be an issue. The factory amp is located up behind the passenger side kick panel.

FWIW, I have an '02 SLT+ that had the Infinity system in it.  I put the HU in first until I had time to install the rest of my system and I didn't bypass the factory amp.  I just used a radio harness adapter and fired it up.  To be honest, if I hadn't already planned on a full install and had all the components I probably would have just left the replacement HU on the factory amp because it sounded better than I would have believed a factory system could sound and got decently loud w/o any distortion.

I never seen the MTX you mentioned but I can't personally see spending over $500 for something this fits in that little space.  I like to have a lot of cu.ft. for my woofers and I just don't see how there would be enough airspace in that tray to get $500 worth of bass.  Personally I'd remove the 3rd seat, put in a false floor, and go with a traditional setup.  Just my 0.02....

BTW, my climate controls are just like the top picture in Duranged408's post.
