RamItOne -> Would you buy it again? (4/24/2008 5:44:23 PM)

Hey I currently have an 06 ram 4x4 and am looking to buy a car.... the only chrysler car i like is the charger, and i really really like it...

I'm looking at the RT but that 6.1 makes the srt damn tempting... after driving my truck i hate being in cars, but sitting in one of these was a great feeling... yea should buy a prius to offset my crappy mpg on the truck, but oh well...

anyways back to my question would you buy it again, how does it rate compared to other vehs you own.

Thanks

I would do it again.  After 37K+ on the car it's been a good experience for me. I've experienced a couple minor issues that were resolved under warranty.

Along with most other people my only concern would be the rising gas prices. I keep my foot out of it and average around 17 mpg intown but that's with a modded 5.7. Since your coming from a truck the gas milage of a 6.1 will probably be comparable.

Yep would definitly buy again about the only thing I would do differently is look harder at the Superbee and try not to let the price scare me lol! If you plan on a R/T or Daytona my only advice would be to wait a few months for the '09's because I believe they get a 20 horse bump in performance due to variable valve timing being added. Maybe Mango or Scamp can correct me if I'm wrong. Dodge's website is showing the increase on 09 Challengers so I imagine the Chargers will get it as well. SRT's remain at 425. I love the performance, handling, and the attitude, plus it sure is nice not to have to apologize to anyone who has to cllimb in the back seat!-Rob

I loved owning my Daytona...  Loved... IT is now gone and replaced with new Pontiac G8.  It was just too good of a deal.

Thanks for all of the help from this board.

You do a great job Dave!

Your right Rob, there was a thread or two on this but I couldn't find them... their bumping the compression up and tweaking a couple other things to add some ponies to the 5.7.

IXLR8, hate to see you go bro. Enjoy that Pontiac and check in from time to time.

Thanks Mango, you had some great comments.

FYI, Pontiac is paying $1000 rebate for people trading in certain targeted cars.  The Charger is one of the targeted cars.

I will check in from time to time...

Midnight Blue -> RE: Would you buy it again? (4/28/2008 11:52:08 AM)

Definitely.  I got a car with all the things that I wanted.  It's fast, quick, comfortable and really doesn't get bad mileage when you factor in the weight.  It's only 2-3 mpg less than my wife's 300m in town and will almost match it on the highway.  The dark blue is a real head turner.  No regrets.

I am fortunate to have a dealer who treats me well which makes owning the car even better.  In fact, I just ordered a new truck from them - should be in next month.

Sounds like Cerebus is listening to the buyers again so we'll be looking at Chrysler/Dodge when we get ready to replace the wife's car in a couple of years when the warranty expires.

Thanks for the compliment.  I do hope you will "drop in" from time to time.  Those G6s are good looking cars.  Enjoy the heck out of that "Ponch".
