So I get paid three checks next month because my pay periods just happen to fall that way so I have extra money to spend. I justgot a tail-stripe from klings which is going to be installed Friday morning, May 5th I am getting power locks and keyless entry(maybe with remote start)installed for $300.00 by Ice Truck Works in Waukee, Iowa. Lastly onMay 16th my front and back bumpers will be coming off to get color-matched to the rest of the truck for just under $500. Also I will be switching to Amsoil, so hopefully it will look better and maybe run better than ever. This of course is if everything works out perfectly, I might have to move the paint day back to the end of May if monetary issues present themselves.

Future plans when the money is available are a K&N 63 Series CAI, Factory Cruise Control, Flowmaster or Magnaflow Muffler, removal of exhaust resonators, 6000kMccullogh HIDs, a 180 degree thermostat, and Stage II Jet Chip.

the stat will run you 6 bucks at napa... I have an extra one that I would send you, but I dont know what shipping would be.

AND with the napa stat, you have to mod it yourself to make it fit properly. just by cutting a notch in it to match the original is all.

Yeah this is going to be an expensive month but I will definitely be a whole lot happier with the truck, being able to unlock doors from afar will be nice. I think I might call up ICE Truck Works and see how much it would cost to make it keyless/remote start and just get everything done in one outing.

Yeah I will definitely post pics as things move along. My avatar is kind of hard to see I think it would be better if the lighting was better or the picture was taken during the day but I just took them quickly one night and thats what I ended up with using my g/f's digital camera.

Get a Python or Viper 2way security system with remote start and have it installed. You won't regret it.

What do those run for the parts and labor?

I bought the Viper 5900 SST from here http://www.hookedontronics.com/show_product_details.jsp?cid=38250&brandtype=885 and paid about $225 to have it installed locally (including the module they needed to interface with the computer for the door locks). I've been extremely happy with it, very good range too plus it's expandable with additional modules. Later on I plan to add the battery backup, radar sensor, and window control module as well as some mini piezo sirens in the cab.

Thanks altair I'm definitely going to look into one. Btw, if anyone happens to have a soft tonneau cover that will fit a club cab box and wants to get rid of it let me know I might buy it from you.

Yeah that sucks I hope your truck comes back in perfect shape. I almost had my own snowy road accident in mine during the winter coming back from work. I was driving 50 miles to and 50 miles from work at the time and I was coming home one night on the interstate when I hit black ice going about 60-65mph. Funny thing was the whole way home there were no signs of ice, hadn't slipped on anything anywhere else, and there wasn't toomuch snow on the ground but I still kept it a little under the speed limit just as a precaution. Ended up fishtailing across both lanes on I-35 until I got her to slide to a stop on the shoulder, just about went sideways into the ditch. A little bit of luck, it could have been a lot worse for me that night, in fact I am quite surprised I didn't take out some exit ramp markers on the shoulder, must have missed them by centimeters.

That sounds a lot like what happened to me man, you should count yourself damn lucky.

Oh believe me I do. I remember just sitting there for like 5 minutes staring out my front windshield in disbelief. Not a soul around either so no one saw me and if I would have went into the ditch all by myself real hard, who knows what could of happened. I'd say we're both lucky. ;)

Shibby how much difference did you see when you changed out the plugs? Can anyone else suggest some mods to do that would help this sluggish V6?

My truck seems to run smoother, and there seems to be less of harshness to it, its quieter. Pull a few of your plugs out and check the gaps on them I think the factory messed up our plugs putting them in. I had plugs gapped anywhere from .040 to .055 when they should all be .040. I bought the Autolite 3923 Copper Core plugs at Wal-Mart along with a gapping tool and a set of spark plug sockets for $13. Make sure you have a long extension to get down to the plugs because they are in there deep. You will have to remove the stock air cleaner assembly to and move some lines and wires around to get at them.

I would also suggest a 180 Degree thermostat to get your engine running cooler, you could also swap out the muffler on your stock exhaust for something like a flowmaster, or magnaflow, or thrush and remove the resonators. I would also buy a K&N 63 Series Cold Air Intake, and probably a Jet performance chip, and maybe even a tonneau coverifyou're looking for a miniscule increase inmpgs.

Right now all I have are the plugs I plan on doing the rest of thosemods later but with all those mods you should be able to pull a little bit more power and perhaps a few more miles per gallon out of your 3.7L
