RE: Truck will look better than ever - 4/26/2008 11:16:06 PM    Shibby927 Posts: 740 Joined: 4/28/2007 From: Norwalk, Iowa (Living in Ames) Status: offline My truck seems to run smoother, and there seems to be less of harshness to it, its quieter.  Pull a few of your plugs out and check the gaps on them I think the factory messed up our plugs putting them in.  I had plugs gapped anywhere from .040 to .055 when they should all be .040.  I bought the Autolite 3923 Copper Core plugs at Wal-Mart along with a gapping tool and a set of spark plug sockets for $13.  Make sure you have a long extension to get down to the plugs because they are in there deep.  You will have to remove the stock air cleaner assembly to and move some lines and wires around to get at them. I would also suggest a 180 Degree thermostat to get your engine running cooler, you could also swap out the muffler on your stock exhaust for something like a flowmaster, or magnaflow, or thrush and remove the resonators.  I would also buy a K&N 63 Series Cold Air Intake, and probably a Jet performance chip, and maybe even a tonneau cover if you're looking for a miniscule increase in mpgs.  Right now all I have are the plugs I plan on doing the rest of those mods later but with all those mods you should be able to pull a little bit more power and perhaps a few more miles per gallon out of your 3.7L < Message edited by Shibby927 -- 4/26/2008 11:25:07 PM > _____________________________ 10.2s at 130mph in the 1/4 mile!
