I just installed KW1s and hotchkis sways and I hear a popping noise in the right fron wheel. Is it the sway no being lubed enough or something else?

I know my exhuast needs to be shimmed could it be that?  It only happens when I turn or hit a bump.

It could be the sway bushings, it would take around 30 minutes to drop the front sway and lube them.

When you under there you can check the exhaust clearance from that crossmember.  If you find you don't have any just loosen up the exhaust at the x-pipe shim under the crossmember with a 3/4" to 1" piece of wood and tighten it up.  Knock out the shim when your done.

This is the advice from another Forum.  I didnt even know these bolts are part of the Strut tower??  Is this correct?

S&S sent these to me to post here for ya'll to see exactly where these mystery bolts are located.

the first two pictures are on the driver's side.

black foam piece...

lift it up to reveal two bolts under foam

these next two pictures are on the passenger's side.

black grate/grill thing...

lift that up to reveal the other two bolts underneath.

p.s. these 4 bolts are located under the hood of your

I don't know if it's a direct part of the strut tower but it is a major brace that runs on the back end of the engine compartment.  That's why a lot of people question the need for an aftermarket strut brace.

<edit> You can see the top of the PCM in the last picture.  If I recall correctly the bolt on the right does nothing but hold the bracket that the PCM attaches to. That's the way you would get to the PCM in order to install the Jet Chip.

I drilled some holes in that brace and ran some 10x32 bolts to mount the ZEX NMU and window switch.

I doubt that's the source of the noise but if it is the fix is easy, good luck!
