Guys, I'm new to the forum and need you advise. A local dealer has a 08 SXT quad cab on sale for less than $19,000. Is has power window, locks, cruise and other nice options. It does have the 3.7 V6 with 4 speed Auto, with 3.92 gears. What your opinion, I fear the 3.7 might be too small for this size truck. Thanks BigODodge

depends on what you are going to do with your truck. If you are going to be hauling mid to heavy loads on a frequent basis then i would suggest moving up to the 4.7 or 5.8l engine. If you are just using it for to/from driving then the 3.7l will be good. The 3.7 does experence engine rmp jump in cruise control when going up shallow grades so do expect that if you get the truck. Kind of sucks since I have to either shut off the O/D (overdrive) or cancel out of cruise control and keep the rpms where i want manually.

1- you can get it cheaper...by a few grand i think...wait until dealers offering some cash-back incentives. i bought my 06 in late 06 when the 07 was already out and chrysler was offering 4500 cash back on 06's. got mine for 15,200...4500cashback is a lot for a 24000 dollar truck 2- 4.7 has a lot more power, and pretty much samr mileage. so, yes the engine is too small. little sucker has tons of torque for what it is, but doesn't quite pull the truck as well as it should.
