i found a website with instructions on installing an air cleaner to the 1998 durango

which one do you think would be better performance wise, a cold air intake or an air cleaner?

Honesty performance in mind, the CAI would be the better choice, that being that CAI draws its air from a remote (Also If Housed) location for a denser(Colder) charge. There are plenty of D's out there with the TB hats as you posted, but to the majority, your just drawing in the raised engine heat.

1. That setup is crap!

2. Snow likes to get up in there and freeze them solid!

3. Colder air = more denser mixtures = more power and less fuel!

Here are some ideas that you con do for cheap. You can also search in the 1st generation Durango section and there is plenty of info.
