OK so the engine light comes on today.  I did the ingnition switch trick and I get a PO 340 and I am told this means-No cam signal at PCM no fuel sync.   What exactly does this mean in english?????

It means you won't get fuel... Because you won't be able to synchronize you cam and crank.

Sounds like a dead or dying cam sensor. No big deal to change for the most part

With a 3.9 its under the distributor cap. Looks more like a pick-up coil than a cam sensor, but...

Does the cam sensor have a different name?  I was gonna order one but I can't seem to find it on the autozone or o'riley's website under that name.

This is assuming you have a 3.9,5.2 or 5.9
