Default Clutch burning?

I started noticing a metallic smell in my cab when I accelerate hard from 3rd and 4th gear. I dont get the smell from first or second during hard acceleration. This probably a dumb question, but is my clutch going or is it somehting else? I've read in previous post how the stock clutch is not to good. Got 27,800 on my RC and is a daily driver. Let me know, thanks!

That is hard to say. The clutch will smell bad when it goes.

If you are feeling bold run the revs to 2.5K and pop the clutch and mash the gas. A good clutch will handle it, a weak one, well it will smoke

It really all depends on launches and if the drive tended to pop or slip the clutch.
