Brake Pads Failing After 4k Miles?

Hey Guys,

I know I drive aggressively but my front brake pads just disintegrated after exactly 4000 miles and now I am driving with my pads and rotors metal on metal..  Does his sound a little messed up that they should only last 4k miles?

I just ordered performance slotted and dimpled rotors with semi metallic pads to replace them which I would expect should last longer because they should stay cooler as stock brakes and my driving don't get along well..

Due to the lack of rotor / pad options I went with http://brakeperformance.com .. Anyone have any issues with this company's brake products?

Sucks driving with grinding brakes while waiting for the new ones to arrive..

I havnt checked my pads cause we got dumped with snow over the weekend, but I have had the occasional squeel when wet. More likely debris than metal on metal.

I am at 7600 now, and I drive hard as well.

My Avenger is over 13,000 miles and I'm still on the original pads.  Although I bought this car at 9800 miles and don't know how the person drove it before me and I drive my car pretty softly.

Thank you for the replies everyone.. I am sure the pads disintegrated due to the heat from the way I drive (Accelerate fast then stop fast) but I thought it was a little much that they went so fast.. I mean I have had stock pads on other cars last a lot longer with way more aggressive driving.. I know that the pads should last a lot longer but I wanted to see if anyone else was having the same issues as maybe they just used cheap materials in the pads..

They are probably covered under warranty since they went so fast but since I ordered new ones I don't really care to go to the dealer.. But the only problem is I am going to have to drive on them like that until the new brakes arrive. I tried buying just front brake pads at my local auto store so that I wouldn't damage the rotor any further and so I could drive semi normally until the new ones come in but they said that they don't have pads for the 2008 Avenger because its too new.. So it looks like I am just going to have to drive the car like that until the new ones arrive.

Normally I would just let the dealer replace them but if the pads are going to fall apart under high heat I might as well go with racing pads and rotors so I won't have to deal with this issue frequently.

Thanks again.
