Default Going on a trip in the Durango

Taking the 03 D on its first trip, what should I do/check? I know the basics, check tires, oil, coolant, etc... I was gonna put in 93 octane and some fuel treatment the day before also. Im also gonna get the oil changed and get a new air filter. Anything else?

I think you covered all the bases.. check your trany fluid level.. on a long trip the tranny will get warm, having enough fluid will make sure everything holds up..

I'm not sure if 93 will help anything.. My '00 4.7 L only calls for 87, and in the maunal it says that higher octane doesn't do anything..

Where you road trippin to? How far you going?

Higher octane only burns slower and more adequate. The sensors pick this up and change the timing and also injection, and air to make up the difference.

I would just run 87 octane unless pulling where the more consistent burn is needed.

Mileage might improve a little due to the more consistent bun but I don't think you will get any more bang for the buck when it comes to gas prices.

a solid 70 cents over the closest state to me.. only takes about 4 hours for me to drive to Detroit, about 2.5 to drive to New York..

Holly **** Batman!

I just filled up here at $3.29 for regular 85 octane. 85 due to elevation. The same fuel at sea level is 87 octane.

The truck don't like it but ya god-da do what ya god-da do. I drive about 50 miles too and 50 miles home each day.

I paid $3.49 two days ago at our little country store down this way. It's safe to say I'll be driving the camry as much as possible this summer.
