Default Anyone know what was changed on the 08 suspensions?

I here a lot people talk or should I say complain about the 05.06,07's haveing to soft of a suspension, the trucks being a little bouncy. I have an 08 and its far from bouncy, Its a little too stiff for my taste, I thin kI would rather have bouncy. Was it just the frint shocks that were changed or was it the springs too. Or maybe more than that was changed? Anyone know the details of what I might look at to get it softened back up, like they were. If its just a matter of ordering the shocks for an 07 then thats cheap enough to be worth trying.

I have heard the same thing about the '08. Chrysler went a bit too far with the stiffness. Somewhere in between I have been hearing would've been perfect.

If it's the front shocks and you are near NY I will happily trade you. I hate the bouncy feel, stiff is good

it will probably come out that that 08 use a single eye mounting instead of the 'C', making it compatible with serveral shocks from other models and makes.

don't laugh...

The front shocks on my 08 are identical to my 05. It's a TRX so they're red instead of black but other than that they look exactly the same. Mounting and all.

Did they change the springs then? Or just internally on the shock? Mine is an 06 TRX and the dealer did change both fronts under warranty but no difference. I'm sure they used 06 units though.

How would you compare the ride from the 05 to the 08? Interesting to hear different opinions.

The ride of my 08 is much stiffer, just like other ppl here have said. It is a TRX though, so Im comparing the ride to an 05 SLT, and that might not be a fair comparison. But other members with non TRX 08's have said they're suspension is also much stiffer than earlier GENIII trucks they've owned.

Default RE: Anyone know what was changed on the 08 suspensions?

It reminds me more of a sports car feel, I have the 18"s with 265/60/18s on mine now, the dealer is supose to swap me out for the 16"s when the truck that has the 16s with 265/70/16s on it gets here in few weeks, I am hopeing thatmore tire, less wheel helps smooth this 08's out a little. It might be ok then. If not I was hoping that it was just the shock valverates were al lthat were changed, I bet a spring change would get a little pricey if thats what it comes down too. I will say though ifyou want a firmride, then what ever they changed I am sure the 08 parts would help get you what you are looking for. If it works out to where I end up changing mine over to what ever the 07s have, it looks like I will have no problem finding buyers for my old parts. LOL
