Hi. I have a 1996 dodge ram 4x4 regular cab short bed for sale. It was wrecked at the end of January, and it could either be fixed up or used for parts. The right fender is no good, the hood is no good, the right headlight is no good, the bumper is no good, and the grill is no good. The back window is also broken out of it. Other than that, it's all there and it runs and drives. It's a 5.2 Liter 318 with a 5 speed manual NVG 4500 tranny. The transfer case is an NP231D. Both driveshafts are in good condition with new U-joints. The engine runs good, and the tranny shifts smooth. Other than the front-right end damage, the body is in ok shape, just not the prettiest, and it does have a little rust and little dents here and there. The truck has a 3" Rancho full suspension lift on it. This is not a truck for someone without mechanical know-how to buy if you plan on putting it on the road. I also have a Hooker chrome roll bar that I will leave with it. Its got some rust on it, but it could be polished up if you wanted to. If your interested, call me at 814-366-7222, or just post up here.. My asking price is nowreduced down to$700 firm. Its in Bradford PA "NW".Thank you. Kyle.

Sorry guys... Really not looking to part it out. I would much rather sell it whole. I figured someone would want it for so cheap... It has a good running 318/tranny/case/dana 44 front/9.25 rear. Someone could easily part out and scrap some of itand make a lot of money off this deal. I just want it gone so I can buy a lift for my 98 Ram.

I hit a ditch. The truck ran and helped pull itself out. The whole truck has about 145,000 miles on it. It runs fine and has no known problems. I put a new main seal in it along with a few other new parts. It has a new altinator and a few other things. The btranny shifts smooth and has never had any problems. A new clutch was put in at about 107,000 miles. I can NOT promise anything on the t-case. I bought it used from a salvage yard here. The warrenty ran up and I never got to try it. I paid $500 for it. The truck it came out of had 48,000 miles on it. It came out of an auotmatic, so the tailhousing was swapped over from my old one. It should be ok, but like I said, I cant say that for sure. The axles and stuff are all good as well.

I dont know. I didnt plan on it, but I guess that I would if someone made me an offer that I liked. Its only a few years old, but it does have surface rust on it that would need cleaned up. Its a Hooker chrome roll bar. Make an offer, and I'll see if I like it. Thanks.

I'm about 6 hours away, so if you have any more pictures of the truck, engine, trans. etc. it would be nice.

I have someone coming to look at it tomorrow. I will take more pics then. I have another guy coming to look at it this weekend. I think the 241 will bolt up to an NV-3500. I'm not 100% positive though. Browse the web, or call a dealer to find out for sure. If any of you guys are REALLY interested, then give me your phone number that you can be reached at. If someone comes and looks at it, but you really, really want it, I can call you if you want, and at that point it turns into an auction by $25 increments. The guy coming tomorrow sounds kinda serious, but the guy coming this weekend sounds more serious and is driving a couple hours to get here. Let me know...

I see that Shawnsack is now swapping his auto for a 5 speed. This truck is still for sale and has everything that you need. I'll take $700 for it now if someone comes and hauls the thing away. I could get about that much for scrapping it, but I hate to see all those good parts get crushed.

SOMEONE COME AND TAKE IT!!! $700!!!

i want it but i need to know how wide it is and if you could tell me how heavy it is that would be awsome... cuz my 3/4ton is what i would normaly pull it with but thats the one the tranny went out on so i would be pulling it with either a dakota or half ton...

Ok. I didnt expect that, haha. I'll get some measurements tonight. As for weight, I'll have to see if I can find the title. It's a complete truck though, so it should be close to the weight of any half ton. What kind of trailer do you plan on using? One of the bolts on the end of the axle on the front is missing. Its the bolt that holds the flange on for the outer shaft, like the wheel bearing and stuff. It also just has old junk wheels and tires on it. So it definitly needs trailered and not towed. It still does move though. It can drive itself to the road to get on a trailer. Ill measure the width and see if I can find the title to get a weight. Ill get back to you this afternoon.

There is no reason thata Dakota or a Half ton would have a hard time pulling it. Its a reg. cab short bed so its not gonna be too heavy.

Well, I measured my 98 ram, and I imagine that they are real close since they have the same axles and all. 72" (6') was the widest point, and that is in the front. As for weight, I still cant find the title, but again, it should be close to any other reg cab short bed, so I'm guessing that it would weigh about 4500 pounds. If that sounds off, anyone on here please feel free to correct it, but I think thats about right. Unless you try to go rock crawling with your trailer or dolly hooked up, any Dakota or Ram should be able to pull it ok.

oh yeah do you have a title for it?

kyle31490
05-16-2008, 08:22 AM
Anytime is ok. If I dont answer, leave a message and ill call you back. About the title, haha. I have it... somewhere. Ill go hardcore looking for it. I can let you talk to the guy I bought it from, and he's had it since the 90's. I can also show you the scar onmy forehead, and pictures of the truck in the ditch right after i wrecked it, if your worried about it being stolen. I'll be able to find it eventually though. What do you need the title for? Just for sense of peace that its not stolen? If its the equivalent, I can write you up a good bill of sale. Ill look for it today though. Wwe can workout pickup over the phone. All weekend can be arranged, or evenings. We'll work out something. Give me a call and we can talk about details. Im young and live with just my finace, so feel free to call anytime of day, 3 am is fine. I prolly wont be up though, haha. Leave a message and I'll get back to you. 814-366-7222. Thanks. Kyle.
