so my hour meter has 922 hours on it. do you guys think that it actually has only 922 or 10992 hours? 900 seems too little, but almost 11000 seems too much. i guess I'm just wondering for people who have daks at around 40k miles, since i just rolled over to 22000 today

i think i may have not asked the correct question. i think eric knew which one i was talking about. the hour meter on the overhead display is resetable. I reset all that info each time i fill up as well. As far as i know, all dakotas are equipped with an engine hour meter. turn the key to the on position, with the odometer showing. press and hold the trip reset button for around 6 seconds, the number that shows up there is the one i am curious about. did you guys know you had that one as well?

I would say 922 hours over 22,000 miles sounds about right to me, miles and hours will very a lot depending on things like where, and how far you drive. Thats said it looks like you have an overal average speed of 23.8 mph. Unless you live on the highway and don't let iddle much, I am sure thats probably about right. I am sure in some areas that average would be even less like, out in LA where traffic is so crazy, and getting cought in jams all the time, racking up hours not miles. Here in the midwest I seldom get cought in a traffic jam and typically run up and down the highway at 70-80mph all the time, so I imagine my average speed would show maybe 35-40 over 20-30,000 miles, just as a guess, I have never calculated it.

Hmmm...I tried that, and nothing happens. The only number that shows is the trip number.

you have to holg the button in at the trip screen, and wait for it to turn to Hrs... mine takes like 20 seconds to do it. My average speed is like 30.88, but that counter counts idle and ignition on, but not running time too...
