Hey Everyone,

Was wondering if anyone can help.  Trying to decide on a Charger but don't know what trim level to get, the R/T or the SRT8.  I have not been able to find any comparitave information on both models.  Is there really a big diff. between the two off the line & 1/4 mi.?  I don't care for the hood scoop on the SRT8, and prefer the R/T look, but I would like to be able to spank some youngtsers in thier wrx's and lancers.

Also is there any word on changing the body style in the near future.  I don't think that dodge can improve on the look of the charger, but I do not want to be like the fools that bought the last year model of the 300 only to find out that the body changed to the current style.

Thanks

The SRT8 will be quicker off the line and pulls harder through the 1/4. The SRT8's 6.1 put roughly 60 more HP to the ground than the RT.

If your wanting to keep pace with stock or slightly moded wrx's then the choice is the SRT8. I don't believe either the SRT or RT will stand a chance with a heavily modded wrx.

If your main concern with the car is speed then go with SRT-8. The R/T is only better then the SRT in 2 ways. Cheaper to maintain and gets around 3-6mpg's better on the highway depending on how you drive. I say go with SRT but you if you have in mind to beat modd'd lancers and wrx's then throw on a 75shot of nitrous and you'll keep most moderately modified lancers and wrx's in check.

I made a big mistake...  I have an 06 Charger R/T and I test drove an 07 SRT8...  I hate my R/T now...  I have mods on mine, brakes, exhaust, intake all inferior to the SRT period! It handles better, its painfully faster and the hood and front clip.....  oh well, I will not make the same mistake twice, when my Charger is paid off...  SRT8 Challenger!!!
