Ok so I have a 1/4 drag race comming up, my dakota vs a low 12's suburu legacy AWD with LOTS of mods with old tranny, he now has a race tranny an hasnt ran it yet. We are racing for 1000. I have plety of money to put in my truck for I am in iraq right now and come back next month to the states. I now have on my truck the following, vortech supercharger, powertracx rear diff, shift kit, 2200 stall, headers, hi perf cats, flowmaster 40's. Now i want to put on my truck heads, cam, rockers, new comp, wider tires, traction bars an some gearin like 4.10. I wanted to ask you guys what have you done that works an will make my truck quick, i want to keep the 5.2 in ,an not motor swap it. So any info or tips would be awsome.

Well this isn't so much a mod. I'd say lose as much weight as possible out of the truck. I remember someone saying to only have half a tank of gas, and all the weight in the truck that you don't need take it out and put it back in when your done. Alot of little weight adds up.

definitaly wider stickier tires and the gears those right there will give you more of a chance since you will be able to hook up seeing there is like nothing over the rear axle and the 4.10's will make it take off. i'd say if your planning on doing everything else get that done then take it to someone that does custom pcm flashes and have then tune it and make you a custom flash.

The amount of money you'd need to drop into the truck just to run 12's isnt worth the effort to be honest...

So do yo think its possible? If i do all those mods? I was planning on making it fast but now i have another reason to be fast.....ive been in contact with a guy who is gona hook me up with a stroker kit an put my s/c on it :)

Yeah superdak from the 3rd Gen Forums had a zex nitrous kit installed on his 05.  You should talk to him and get info from him on that.

Well,  in the older muscle car days...  guys would run oil a quart low so the crank didnt have to slosh through as much oil...   but now days we have crank scrapers and better oil pans...

To be honest,  you will probably get smoked.  
Some N2o will help even out the playing field,  but thats a lot of money to throw away for one bad spray...
