Heres a list of upgrades I want to do to my 2006 ST Club Cab 3.7L 2WD.

1. Audio, the stock stereo sucks (suggestions?)
2. Bedliner (Line-X or Rhino Liner Spray-In)
3. Wheels and Tires (Looking for probably 17-18" wheels with good all season truck tires.)
4. Replace front bumper with one off of an SLT or Laramie and paint to match the rest of the truck.
5. Paint rear bumper to match the rest of the truck.
6. Cold Air Intake
7. Dual Exhaust (Need ideas for 3.7L V6)
8. Various minor cosmetic upgrades (chrome handles etc...)
9. New Brakes
10. Install factory cruise control
11. Power Windows, Locks, Keyless, and Remote Start

This is pretty much what I want to do to my truck as a whole. If anyone has any good ideas on where I can find parts (at the best prices) or any other good ideas to make my ST better please share them.

i replaced my stock stereo with a new pioneer head unit from best buy. great system. my full size had the alpine with the i-a-net system even better. went with the bed rug , because i rarely use the bed. and if i do i have a utility trailer. topped it of with a fiberglass cover. i still want to color match my frt bumper, but the rear is chrome. i have the 63 series k/n intake with the iat relocator. as for the exhaust. get some nice mufflers and have a shop bend and hang the pipe. it is a lot cheaper than paying for a kit. mine was 250.00 out the door. paid in cash so no sales tax. gonna be kinda expensive to put the aftermarket electronics in. should have found one with that stuff. they are out there.

hmmmmmmmm well I say you scrap the 3.7 and build a wild beast of a hemi and dump it in your dak! I'm thinkin 600hp all motor should be sufficient :)

Mine is an 05 ST.  Should give you an idea of what it could look like.  That's an old pic in my sig too, I have the painted bumper with OEM fogs.

Yeah I think my Dad knows a guy from his work that does custom exhaust work come to think of it maybe I could get a deal.  My dad says he'll do custom 3" pipes cat back with stainless tips, he says he can make a six sound like an eight. I'll probably go that path for the exhaust work. Yeah I had a custom car shop in Des Moines quote me for the power locks and windows and it was something like $200 a door for locks and $350 a door for windows, that sounds crazy to me so I'll probably just try to find some chrome crank handles that fit and don't look so damn cheap.

LoL I wish I could afford to put a hemi in my truck.  Although I would love to learn how to do an engine swap I am certainly no mechanic which means I would probably have to pay someone to do the work and it would probably cost me a pretty penny. Seriously though that would be awesome who would expect my little ST Club Cab with the stylin gray plastic bumper on the front to blow them away off the line?! Sleeper Kota

Does anyone know where I can get a set of wheels/tires in about 17 to 20 inches for a good price? Or does anyone have a used set they are trying to get rid of?

I have also considered paying my truck down and trading it on an 07.

I found a 2006 QC 4x4 4.7L SLT for sale about 20 minutes away from where I live.  Crappy thing is that I still owe a little over 14k on my truck and this one is 18k so I'm sure I would have to take a  hit and financing would probaly be difficult. Tell me what you guys think should I try to get it?  It's dark blue, has 23,400 miles on it and has the following options

  • Quad Cab
  • Power Locks
  • Power Windows
  • Tilt Wheel
  • Aluminum Wheels
  • Bed Liner
  • Tow Package
  • Sun Screen
  • Remote Start

  • 4 Wheel Drive
  • Air Conditioning
  • Cruise Control
  • Front Bucket Seats
  • CD Player
  • Cloth Seats
  • Keyless Entry
  • Tonneau Cover

Think of it this way...how much money are you going to spend on some of those mods that you'll save by buying a truck that has those things already done? The other truck already has the bedliner and all the SLT options installed for you..

I would get it if its what you want. I agree with MB, def would be cheaper and less hassle buying a truck with the options you want.

I'd agree with the rest of everyone else on this post...I had the same thing when I got my 05 QC.  I was wanting "certain options" on my truck and I waited long eough to find EXACTLY what I wanted instead of buying something then spending all the extra $$$ to put on it what I wanted.

Go as cheap as you can....money dont go far these days....especailly with $60-$80 a week for gas in these HOGS!!!

Does anybody know if a tonneau cover really gives better gas mileage I have heard that they have and I have heard that they haven't.

I wouldnt say its a super significant gain. I have an Extang Classic Platinum tonneau and i have seen 1-2mpg increase over the long highway trips. Extang claims their tonneaus save gas and could almost pay for itself. I am not totally convinced, but they sure do look nice on trucks.
